Rishi Sunak has said he is "glad" his tax details have been released following months of political pressure, showing he paid £432,493 in tax in 2021/22.

Politics of envy runs rampant in this country.

Sure, he's rich but he's also the Chancellor who introduced furlough which saved the jobs of millions. He's increased min wage by inflation and protected the triple lock to protect those on the lowest income in society.

He's from a modest immigrant family background and unlike others, he did not inherit his wealth. He used his intelligence and worked hard to become successful. His story is one which should incite aspiration rather than jealousy.

I actually don’t care. He made a lot of money before he became an mp that shows he was good at his job. I like the idea of having a pm who we know has been successful being successful makes it more likely they can be successful again. That said I’ll look at policy before anything else.
