LIVE: Donald Trump 'assassination attempt' in Florida

Donald Trump’s campaign team said that the former president was “safe” after an alleged shooting near his Palm Beach golf resort in Florida.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump’s spokesman, Steven Cheung, said on Sunday afternoon.

It was said that the former president was leaving his Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach as two shooters exchanged fire with each other. Trump is not believed to have been the target.
