An iPhone 6 that had received a battery replacement a few months ago suddenly stops turning on and no current is being drawn through the charging port.

Testing the battery port shows there's a severe short present even before attempting to wake/power-on the device.

While the iPhone 6 isn't supported by Apple any more there are still a lot of them out there being used and holding data that people want back if the phone fails.
