Joe Dante on THE LAST JUDGMENT

Even heavily invested fans of the great director may not have known about this little-seen film from Vittorio De Sica. A multi-storied phantasmagoria about the end of the world (announced from on high in a booming voice) the movie features a psychotronic cast worthy of Irwin Allen’s The Story of Mankind including Anouk Aimee, Jack Palance, Ernest Borgnine, Melina Mourcuri and… Jimmy Durante.

Sorry Mr. Dante. "Sometimes the magic works. .etc." was spoken by Chief Dan George in Little Big Man not The Outlaw Josey Wales.

Have honestly never heard of this one, and that is one hell of a cast.

I saw this on FilmStruck last year and loved it! Hopefully Criterion Channel brings it back.

Think Mr Borgnine's mother was of Italian royalty lineage .

Judging by the cast, music and intro sequence, this should have been great.
We’re greatly missing guys like Dino and Roger C. in today’s world. People who where willing to take a chance and let lose.

I love, Love, LOVE Orca !!!

God help me, it's true.

Please do Orca 2 ! It's not too late, we can call up Charlotte Rampling and Bo Derek, Richard E. Grant can be an evil tycoon, toss in some topical global warming message.. It. Will. Be. FANTASTIC!

Joey...bubala...this is gold, baby, GOLD!

maybe the fact that most of the cast it's made of italian superstars that never made the big jump into international notority (Vittorio Gassman, Paolo Stoppa, Nino Manfredi, Alberto Sordi, Silvana Mangano and the fellinian italo-tunisian starlet Anouk Ainee)didnt help an already "weird" movie.Nevertheless, i agree with mister Dante. Quite the bizarre and interesting picture, very similar to the other big Zavattini-De Sica collaboration, Miracolo a Milano.

Seriously why not make Orca 2 - like Orca was all that great.
