The explosion of clinical data has driven the need to develop technology that can turn latent data buried in electronic records into information that is actionable for clinicians. The Vanderbilt Anesthesiology and Perioperative Informatics Research (VAPIR) Division is leading this charge in and around the operating room to help surgeons and anesthesiologists alike make better decisions to ensure that the safety and quality of patient care are never compromised. Our overall goal is to turn data into information through the creation of tools that can be easily used by researchers, analysts and bedside clinicians.
