INDEX and MATCH functions better than VLOOKUP in Excel - Office 365

The VLOOKUP function can only look up a value from left to right. This means that the column containing the value you want must be located to the left of the column containing the return value. If the value you want is in the right column you can not use VLOOKUP. If you use combination of INDEX and MATCH functions you can lookup values in which ever column either left or right to the column containing return value. You can stop using the VLOOKUP and use INDEX & MATCH for all lookups.
