I really, really enjoyed this game! The only real complaint I have is that there is so much grinding per area. The oeverworld continent does look bland, but not terrible. I mean there was a dragon in every area.

Totally agree, Cohh. Love your explanation of the "is it better, or is it worse" item economy with the thumbs up and down. That's nice when you need to make a quick decision of course, but I don't even remember *one* item from Inquisition. Nothing really stands out. There's also so much filler content in this game, indeed very "Ubi" in that sense. Like many others have commented before, it's likely an overcorrection after DA2. Very curious to see if part 4 feels like a more matured and balanced RPG.

Every single day Cohh reminds me why I've been watching him for the past 5 years with almost religious devotion. <3GW
So elegantly well and timely put example of Apple about UI, what I've been trying to convey to my friends that disliking doesn't meant hating. Do I agree with Cohh about Apple's approach to UI and how they perceive the end user? Absolutely! Have I ever wished to switch to their products? Never. And with that he makes a very valid point from the criticism on this title.
3:50 Made all my systems go into "Overload". The audacity to ask such a thing!!! 😅 Me, as a person, who spent 300+h in Pathfinder games in Character creation menus alone, calculating different builds before actually playing any of them, -- I became physically unwell just from hearing such a question! My heart! 😲 Somebody, call an ambulance! 😵

Each time I see the arguments about numbers and 3rpg" mechanics being diluted" and such, I am always like "since when do numbers roleplay anything". The dragon age series is an Action-RPG that is remebered for one thing on thing only : Narration. When people talk about the game even Origins the first they tell you when you ask "what do you like in dragon age" is 90% of the time :"I love Alistair! I love Morrigan! I loved playing as a cast-less dwarf! etc..." and almost never "I loved how by casting this glyph I could gain a 15% damage boost to this spell!" and such. So the fact that they focused more on the moment to moments experience of the fast pace action (in opposition to the more strategic and calcultaing side of high difficulty Origins) and the actual roleplay is I think a good thing. But on big project like that you can expect them to still have those optimisation mechanics and builds easaly accesible. The recent Divinity games do that quite well. TLDR: Never blame an action-RPG to focus more on the action and the roleplay than the strategy and min-maxing, blame it for not being able to organicly do both.
PS: Sorry for bad english.

Love watching Cohhs cogs turn. Such a smart man and we don’t not deserve him and his wisdom. I like dragon age inquisition and mass effect andromeda is good to considering it’s development cycle too. Looking forward to dread wolf 🐺 😃. Thanks again Cohh for all you do. Keep it up 👍 😁 😯

Inquisition didn't really click with me until I decided to skip most of the Hinterlands and then continued to skip anything that felt too MMORPGish/time sink-y. My favorite aspect of the game is how intricate the random party dialogue can get depending on who you take with you. It felt like I was eavesdropping on well-written side stories where two characters would start off hostile to each other and then gradually come to an understanding over the course of the game in ways that I never would have heard if I had taken different people or switched them out more often.

I think I’ve attempted to do 5 or so Inquisition playthroughs and I can never manage past the 20 ish hour mark. I adored 1 and 2 so I keep hoping one day I’ll go back to Inquisition and enjoy it

Hah, yea, this "ubisoft-ish" feeling is spot on. Somehow they created semi-open world where you walk and walk and collect sh*t and walk and search. To be honest DA1 and 2, while both were more corridor-ish, started this, but DAI perfected this system... sadly. Also simplified RPG elements like lack of atributes distribution...yea, not good.
But there were so many improvements - diplomacy, inquisition management, special skill, classes were fun, game was huge which i really liked. So yes, overall good game, but it makes sense that people who played old DA games did not like the shift toward more casual and "size over depth" style.

Great game, underrated imo. Literally did just about every single thing you can do in it. Will be playing it again at some point

Regarding gear: I recently played Stranger of Paradise, and in that game all the gear has multiple different stats and affinities, but you get bombarded with so much of it that it becomes a chore to sort through it after every mission. A simpler system of "Better or not better" would have suited that game more. I feel like there should be a scale with rpgs depending on the frequency of loot.

Saying that though, loot is a major part of CRPGs and simplifying that aspect takes away from one of the genre's key points.

The constant grinding killed this game. It never felt like grinding in Origins.

I would review it if the thing would launch from steam, I have trouble shooted for literally hours and none of the suggestions have worked

I personally really liked the game. For the most part is enjoyable and the story is great. There is some mmo style sidequesting that I could’ve done without but didn’t ruin the experience for me

Playing this game again recently, the story content and characters is excellent. I also enjoy the combat, but my main criticism is how bloated the game feels. There are these big sections to explore and they look nice while being okay to play, but I have a hard time remembering anything unique that I did in them. Any side quests with story were really short and could've been longer.

Dragon Age Origins and DA 2 were more linear, but I can remember a lot more of the side quests and side stories at least, because it all had a really clear direction.

I feel like we've made the idea of a game having an open world mandatory, and it causes games to have more quantity but not quality.

Ive never been so caring about what characters in a game had to say. I would spend an hour of talking in that game and wouldn't care a bit.

This game suffered from what many games suffered from at the time. And that was the craze that gaming companies were going through to appeal to as many casual gamers as possible. They did this to increase their market. However what it ended up doing was shitting all over the dedicated fans of the series. It’s such a shame that happened and I’m glad to see game companies pulling away from that business model. DA 2 was worse, and BioWare tried to pull it back for Inquisition, but not nearly enough.

I get the mixed reviews. I have mixed feelings about the game. The story and characters really had me engaged and they helped me push through the game. However, a lot of the exploration and side content is just extremely bland. When you aren't engaging the main storyline, the game feels like a pile of anecdotes instead of an immersive world with a riveting story. It feels very bloated with random content, which is a shame because you can tell how much effort went into a lot of the lore. I also really liked the idea of building up your own "faction" and gaining power, but it really serves little purpose other than give meaning to said bloat. I agree with you on the combat and RPG elements. I also have to say that my build choices felt very unimpactful and combat became too repetitive after awhile. Still, really enjoyed the good parts of this game!

Just started playing for the first time and the only question I can ask is why wouldn't I just start a new skyrim play through. Gave it about 20 minutes and... not worth it.
