Professor José van Dijck on today's 'platform society'

Показать описание
According to professor José van Dijck, we live in a platform society. And in this society, it's not entirely clear who is responsible for all sorts of (digital) phenomenon. Think for instance of issues like fake new and hate speech. Some people might want to blame Facebook for these things, but according to Van Dijck, it's impossible that Facebook is solely responsible. And therefor, the company should not be the only organisation tasked with solving the issues. In this video, Van Dijck discusses topics like shared responsibilities in a digital environment, the impact of dataflows and her newest book The Platform Society, which she wrote with Thomas Poell and Martijn de Waal.
