That is why they cut the duty, when people brought the duty was 12-15% while when they reedem tbey get 6%. So people are loosing out on it. Worst FM ever for middle class.

Ye toh hona hi tha. It's a burden to the exchequer coz the bonds are not backed by anything they simply track the gold prices.

It is just a way to do away with the tax benefit that they have to give on SGB’s, Rather than taking back provision of tax benefit of CG and creating news out of it.
