My main pattern was, "hit the minions, if it hits a champion, thats nice" it worked out for the most part since i play anivia and xerath and lux for the most part

There's a reason why skillshot champ is not very much popular in higher elo, the higher you play, the more easier for you to predict their SS because they would always hit anyway that is necessary for them, skillshot champ is usually pair with someone that could stun so the skillshot would be inevitable.

and then they start adapting and then you adapt to it and then its a lottery, pattern only matters in very stresfull situations

Nobody ever plays by one pattern unless they're a bot. People usually adapt to how you dodge even in lower elos. Maybe an NA thing.
