Fun fact: The MCAS software flight control law adjusts the horizontal stabiliser to *push the nose down* when the aircraft is operating in manual flight with flaps up at an elevated angle of attack (AoA).

MCAS isnt a stall prevention. It only kicks in when the AOA reaches a critical point so it doesnt enter too high of a AOA and cause a stall. Trims down automatically then. Putting it into a stall because of lack of airspeed wont trigger MCAS. MCAS only prevents too high of an AOA.
