My other tip is to make sure your art area is on tile, hardwood floor, or you have a mat/drop cloth underneath if you're on carpet. Wiping up paint and sweeping up dropped Play-Doh is SO much easier on a smooth, hard surface.

I live in a country where Montessori is considered to be a way to raise a child to be excel, which was why I didn't like to be involved. I have wonderful memories of my mother letting me help her cook homemade play dough and color it with food coloring. So many colors you can make. Really awesome advice about sports casting, I love the idea of my child being creative for their own pleasure and satisfaction rather than the praise of others.
