I wonder why so many people are against science, it really blows my mind, ironically everybody are using computers to post stupid comments and for sure they dont know that all the vegetables and fruits we consume are already genetically modify

I would like to see a scientific article about how do you silenced the gene. Do you have one? Thank you.

But I'm still curious, isn't polyphenol oxidase an antibiotic for the apple? Is it being removed completely or just "silenced?" Doesn't this still effect our gut flora? (I'm also curious about how you stand with the practice of gm farmers to sue other farmers for genetic drift.)

I won't lie. Even I have been wary of "GMOs". But I am interested in trying an Arctic Apple! A non-browning apple? Sounds like a fairy tale! Imagine food that doesn't brown? Is it the beginning of food that can never spoil??? Amazing!

This is so cool!!! It's not freeze-dried, right...?

You can put lemon juice on your apples if you don't want them to brown

Oh wow, that clears it up! Thanks for your answer, I really appreciate it. They sound a lot less scary now.

As a consumer, they only thing I'm asking is the GMO products to be labelled "GMO". We have 100% right to choose whatever we put in our mouth. Health  Canada is to blame not to make it mandatory.

The corn, tomatoes, bananas, etc that we consume in a regular basis were modified long ago, and we love them. GMO's make food better and last longer, that's how the accelerating growth of the world's population can be sustained.
Cancer in the US has more to do with trans fats, excessive meat eating, etc.

How long were the safety trials that prove they are safe for human consumption and don't cause any harmful effects.

Brilliant! :D I hope we continue to use science to improve our foods! The anti-comments here are just silly and uninformed.

Great work. Although I think it's counter productive to sell them in bits in plastic pouches. They have a longer life now, so that means less waste, but then you cut them up and put them in plastic pouches, contributing to more waste..

Hi Arctic Apples,
I am doing a school research project on your company. What would you say are the most positive three reasons to produce a non-browning apple??? I feel as though apples can be brown and that is not a problem, but there are real reason why so much testing went into a apple that could have health risks. What could this do to our environment and why should people purchase arctic apples for other reasons than they won't brown.

To the anti-GMO crowd, I say BE VERY AFRAID. By all means stay locked inside your home and don't ever go outside. You never know what dangers lurk out there. BOO!!!
Science rocks!!

Not sure why an apple browning was worth billions of dollars in R&D, was it such a problem that we just had to fix it?? Is anyone getting sick, or dying, from browned apples?? Why not spend that money in areas where there are actual problems... seems like another solution in search of a problem, catering to whiners who don't want "normal" life to affect them.

I ate this joke of an apple by mistake. Was able to tell there was something not right about the apple maybe by the taste/texture, but it was very subtle. Didn't want to eat it anymore so i left it on my table and to my surprise it didn't brown but kinda shriveled like any dehydrated fruit does. Eating that led me to search for the cause and i found this. Threw the entire batch in the garbage where it belongs.

Hello! I'm doing a research work about arctic apples. I want to know how did you silenced the enzymatic browning and its process. Please reply for I badly need this for my report. thank you.

why is the apple turning brown a bad thing?

GMO non-browning apples. Because being able to visually tell when food has become rotten is just "inconvenient." You know what works better? Lemon juice.
