Philips B5X74A (1957) Demo After Recap and Repairs

This Philips set was bought new and brought over to Canada from the Netherlands in the late-1950's by the family that still owns it - that's really cool. The owner wanted the AM dial cord re-strung and a check to see if anything else needed to me done to render it working well again (he had reported distortion and weak signals). I re-strung the dial cord (actually two for the AM dial - and there are another six in this set(!). Five of the tubes were weak and some ugly wax capacitors and electrolytics were replaced. However, it was still paying very quietly - this fault traced to a misaligned and very tarnished set of contacts on one of the many rotary switch wafers. An alignment check/adjustment has yet to be done.
