As mentioned before folks, it doesn't matter here with TOGR where the product comes from, the reviews are always honest and straight forward. Thank you ThruNite for sending in the TH01 headlamp for review, hopefully they can't address the problems with this light.
Now on to 2020 and I will begin the New Year filming a 3 day adventure!
S&H everyone.

Glad I passed on that one. Thanks for being one of the few who actually go out and test a product before hitting record.

Good job on discovering the exaggerated runtimes but really Luke, you need to know more about these kinds of lights. They are a completely different game than a traditional light or even one that uses disposable primary cells (like AA or AAA).

Turbo modes are not meant for continuous use with any flashlight or headlamp. Turbo modes 'kick down' either due to a heat sensor or by a pre-programmed time; both ways work. This is needed to 1- prevent damage to the light or LED emitter 2- prevent damage to the LiIon cell 3- prevent excessive wear to the LiIon cell. It's actually a good thing that this light doesn't go back into turbo after it 'kicks down'- that means it's doing it's job just as it is supposed to, not that there's something wrong with the light!

All high-performance lights get hot; they are supposed to because the light body serves as a heat-sink for the LED and it's electronic driver circuitry which would otherwise burn up PDQ from the heat they deal with. If you click back into turbo mode after the light 'kicks down' you risk destroying the light- don't do it even if the light allows you to do it.

Me? I'm not an expert on this subject, but I am very familiar with high-performance LiIon lights and I've played a small part in designing a couple of the better ones. I wouldn't want any light which used 18350 cells. First they don't have the energy density of a slightly longer 18650 which can give 3 times the level of energy this light does. Second they are harder to find and more expensive with fewer high-quality cells made in this size. If I couldn't go bigger to the 18650 then I'd go smaller and get a light that used a 14500 cell, as most of those lights can also use a AA cell in a pinch. Better choice of cells in this size too.

It's great to see someone actually testing something instead of the other "outdoor" people recommending a piece of gear and then posting an Amazon affiliate link just to make a buck or two.

In this day and age. It's refreshing to find an honest person and review. Thank you, Sir

I’ve been lucky. My TH20 has been 110% trouble free. I’ve been using it well over 2 years, maybe 3 years. I just recently picked up the TH10 V2 and so far have had no issues.

Thankfully for us we have TOGR to test and reveal these products, good or bad, for our use. Your influence with the public is large enough that they have to pay attention. Thanks for all the reviews and making these companies at least consider that they're going to be found out when producing an inferior product. You, Luke are responsible for causing a whole industry to stand up and be better.... all for our benefit.

Thank you Luke! At least ThruNite realizes that there is a problem!
Personally I have Black Diamond Storm Headlamps and use Streamlight flashlights, which use easy to find AA and AAA batteries

I am glad that you do these reviews on outdoor/and other related useful products. I have had a Coleman headlamp (high/low clear LED, red and blue LED) that I purchased at WallyWorld in 2003 that still performs just fine as it did when I bought it. It cost me $13. It has been through quite abit over the last 16 years as it was used for work, power outages, vehicle maintenance and searching for the elusive whatkamacallit in the attic etc.

Yeah you're right. I've seen a few reviews of that headlamp from other known You-tubers and it's been all about how good the light is with all positive no cons all pros. And i was thinking that Luke should have one too, and there you go, an honest true review.
