The King of Indian Breads!

Is Kulcha the king of Indian breads? I think it is! Which is your favourite bread? Tell me in the comments. The location is Bachan Kulcha, Patel Chowk, Pathankot, Punjab, India. There's a bunch of kulcha shops there. Pair it with a thick sweet lassi for an epic Punjabi breakfast!

Punjabi Kulcha is a popular flatbread from the Punjab region of India, renowned for its rich flavor and soft, fluffy texture.

Traditionally cooked in a tandoor, this leavened bread is made from refined wheat flour, yogurt, and a leavening agent, which gives it a light and airy quality.

Often stuffed with spiced mashed potatoes, onions, or paneer, Kulcha is a versatile dish that pairs perfectly with a variety of accompaniments such as chole (chickpea curry), raita, or pickles.

Its golden, slightly crispy exterior and tender interior make it a beloved choice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Punjabi Kulcha not only reflects the culinary artistry of the region but also embodies the warmth and hospitality of Punjabi culture.

You are the only foreigner who really understands the depth of Indian cuisine.
Or maybe there are others but only you pop up in my feed.

It's impossible not to love Punjab. The people, music, and food. I haven't gotten into Punjabi movies yet, but my wife is always laughing out loud to them!

Glad you're back Karl. I watched sooo many of your videos years ago and learned so much about India. I remember that there was some situation which prevented you from entering the country and that uploads dropped after that. Hope that everything got sorted out and you could reunite with your indian side of the family.

Kulcha is very crispy, unlike fluffy naan, because it's leavened with baking powder/soda, not yeast.

This is my hometown Pathankot, Punjab. We live in Dubai and everytime we come to Pathankot to visit our parents, we make sure to have Amritsari Kulcha from these shops; they are absolutely delicious and still have the same original taste as 15 years ago.

2 Kulchas with lassi in the breakfast on a Sunday morning and then go to sleep till afternoon.
