Here's a simple answer. You by an aftermarket radio with sub/amp outputs. Buy the the adapter which costs around $40-$75. Forget any high/low adapter. Now you can hook up another amp for subs and still use the rest of the factory speakers as well.

I have a two-part question. I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon with Factory JBL. There are two different harnesses available for my application. The standard application is a 2 connector setup and it appears to have the blue wires in the harness that would connect the power for the amplifier. The other connector is a 1 connector setup with RCA's. Can I use the two connector standard harness with my JBL system or will I lose my sub? Do I have to go with the RCA harness? Also I heard that if I use the standard harness I can connect directly into the factory amp through a different part of the harness in the dash?

I have a 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee limited that I will be giving my son for his 18th birthday. I want to upgrade the sound system a bit. The factory head unit is staying in the vehicle so we have an LOC and we are changing all of the door speakers (4 doors, 2 tweeters). We are adding a 4ch amp to get the kids and highs loud a crisp. We also plan to make sure that we can still run the factory sub for now but will be upgrading to a custom box for the back. What all do we need before we start?

For your next Q&A. What do you think about "foam speaker Baffles or rain guards"? I would really like to install a set on front doors for water protection, how much will it affect the sound? (even when cut out/ported)

Couldn’t you just splice the wires together from the input to the output? So the ones going to the deck already could be used?

So if I'm replacing all four door speakers along with adding twos subs with a new amp with new headunit i can just remove all bose components and not worry about tapping in or bypassing anything?

Can I bypass the amp and still keep the factory radio?

Just use a $20 scosche 4 channel converter if you want to add an amp and woofer to your factory system. No need to bypass your factory amp. You don't lose any channels and you don't even need to touch your deck.

I am looking all over and there are no videos on how to keep the factory amp with an aftermarket head unit. my factory amp works just fine and I want to install my pioneer head unit while keeping by door speakers and tweets amplified by the factory amp.

Hi I love watching you video. However i have one question. Recently i issue with my amplifier (here is no sound from all speakers). I just took my car to service and the mechanic said i need new amplifier. My question is if am going to do it myself and buy the same model amplifier, does the new amplifier need the factory setting code. I am afraid that if i pull out the old amplifier and put the new one in it requiring Lexus setting code to run it. Any helps appreciated. My car is Lexus RX450H 2010.

So since my Chevy 2005 has the nose amp am I able to replace with let’s say a alpine 4 channel amp?

I read something before that if you bypass the factory amp and splice into the existing speaker wires, without using a line out converter. That over time it could damage the head unit if you don’t install capacitors or Resistor between the splices?
