Thank you very much for advice. Dogs are very intelligent and small puppies always suffer from separation anxiety. That familiar smell of blanket makes it so much easier. Thank you very much.

Reggie is a little darling. We bought our puppy home 2 years ago, I sat with her in my arms wrapped up in my old fake fur coat which my old dog used to sleep on, we drove 70 miles in heavy rain, she slept all the way home, she's such a good little dog now, and a bit of a celebrity on her walks❤

Also anxiety is another issue. We bought a dog and weren’t careful with the separation. It had seizures from the separation. Very sad moment and we’ve been trying to learn how to not let that happen

A full safety car rated harness small enough to fit them at that age/size is a possibility.
Then secure the attached lead to the headrest, looping it around until it's short enough that the pup wont hit the dash or fall off the seat if you brake suddenly, then clip it to itself.

Depending on the car take into account the airbag deploying.
Really old cars nope.
Relatively new cars generally have sensors to detect if someone is in the seat before the airbag will trigger.
So it's only earlier model passenger seat equipped airbags that would be an issue... and the backseat is alright if the pup can see you.

And you'll need a good harness anyway for when they're young.
Being able to lift the dog straight into the air via the harness is a useful option, especially if there's a potentially dangerous situation.
And it's just safer for very fast energetic pups on longer leashes, so that they don't garrote themselves by getting up to speed within the length of the leash and then being halted by their collar as they are galloping.

I had a 12 week old minifoxy that flipped herself by her collar reaching the end of the 2 metre leash.
Got her a harness and she'd be halted by the harness spreading the force safely on her torso.

And then use an old booster seat, in the front, to take her on drives.
All safe and secure, I did a series of increasing emergency brake test in a deserted carpark to check the length and fit of the setup, you need to take into account the slack of the leash that will be taken up in a serious deceleration.

What we did for my little toy crossbreed was have her in a carrier just for the ride home. She only ever saw that thing in the car. It was very separate.

As a result, she lived in her crate. Loved it. For bigger dog breeds, this obviously wouldn't be possible but as our first and only family dog, it was lucky we could do it.

Haha, that might work with a calm pup, not a bulterier tho! Thank goodness my mom was driving (6 hours+ bathroom breaks every hour) So I could entertain the sharkpig when he wasn't taking power naps xD

Just don't ask the breeder to bring them, bcuz the dog parents might escape..

Had it with my 1st dog where i had car problems and the breeder brought her, than he came back home and the father (husky) of the pups escaped and now almost 5 years later he is still missing.

Still blaming myself for it and regret asking for bringing my puppy and wish I would have taken a train or taxi, than it probably wouldn't have happend
