The fact that people with flaxen or straight hair are described as "Americans", while those who don't are described as other, is alarming and speaks to the ignorance of people's mindset. Eye color is determined by your genes. When i lived in Nigeria my neighbour who is Nigerian had a son when he was born his eyes where blue, as he got older his eyes changed to a light brown . All her kids where born this way. She has no mixed blood neither goes her husband, so if two people having this similar gene which is rare get married and have 4 kids, -one of them will have blue eyes, from the mixing of that rare gene from both parents.

I’m black African but all my mums children had red hair as a child but while growing it’s turned into brown not black. My hair is brown so my mum used to colour our hair black as children because our hair was turning red on-top. They used to cut it so that people don’t see the red but it was all over around the our head and so people still see them. I wonder how did we get red hair.
