I have watched a lot of videos on Youtube by professionals who try to explain cation exchange and I do not understand this process. Here you are a non-professional and now I get it. You did a fantastic job explaining this process by going step by step. Thank you.

Here is a very good visual & explantion of CEC. The speaker covered the one issue that had me confused. When plant roots produce exudates (amino acids, sugars) that feed the soil life, the micro-organisms excrete (poops-out) a substance which contains substanial Hydrogen+ ions. These H cations are slightly acidic & easily break break the bonds that hold the alkaline anions (negative) releasing nutrients in the rhizosphere for the root hairs to absorb.

Check out “dr James white and Rhizophagy” with regards the absorption by plants of minerals/ food requirements.
Your mind maps are very good and informative.I find cec & tec hard to take in but totally necessary. Keep up the good work.
Personally I regard the understanding of rhizophagy as a game-changer in understanding plant nutrition.
Thank you.
