I can not figure out one plausible scenario in which this experiment will further technology other than a hypothetical telescope that can detect exactly what the experiment supposedly has. I don't think anyone was really debating the existence of gravity waves. however, I think the experiment proving anything is debatable. I would like to know how they narrowed down the interference pattern to two orbiting black holes and not well... every other possible cause.
