Had a play with the Holly fuel pressure regulator. I saw that it needed a big movement to shut the valve, so i cut the needle that keeps the valve open to halve its length. Now it needs a lot less movement to shut fuel flow down. The spring was too long and would always have pressure on the pin keeping the valve open. I squashed the spring down a bit so the adustment starts at zero. Setting the pressure is a lot more sensitive now and i can bring it down to 1.5psi very easily now. Spring weight is ok, just needed to be able to back it off a bit, it is a progressive spring weight, so being able to back it off a bit enabled me to use the more sensitive part of the spring base, it was far too long. To make it more sensitive it could probably do with a slightly bigger diaphram. I have only tested it on air pressure (up to 200kpa) so far so ill let you know what happens with fuel.

Yeah if the crank and fly wheel don’t sing when taped, it means it’s too soft for the job and same applies for the anti roll bars

Do you have a mechanical fuel pump or electric? I thought the mechanical pump put out 3psi and that’s what the carb needs? I have the same one but when I bought my rail, the screw adjustment was completely tightened all the way down. No threads showing. I removed mine bc I’m running a mechanical pump not electric. Good luck!
