Feeling Good Animatic (OC Animatic)

Sooo this is the first animatic I've made after literally 2 years sdcbhdh my editing is not the best, I made this in windows movie maker bc its all I have. When I first heard this song I imagined my character, Jason singing it so yeah--lmaO i hope ya'll liked it.

It's the little details that I love. His immediate reaction to seeing her get up is he knows she can hear what's going on. So, he goes over to her to stop and distract her, and as the song and his singing gets louder his voice is all she can hear.

This is the song for the villain who used to be that hero who put everyone before their own happiness. They finally had enough and decided that if they would be seen as a villain for putting themselves first for once, then so be it. And they've never felt better.

I just noticed as well, when he pulls her in for the dance his voice increases in volume as well, like he's trying to block out the noise of the fighting. Very nice attention to detail holy s***.

So I just love the idea of the singer and his assassin partner playing rock paper scissors before the job to see who does the singing seduction and who grabs the case.

I like how its just made like a scene out of a film. He could actually sing this song just to catch attention. You barley find animatics like this without voice actors where you actually feel like... that they talk to you. Also the drawing is just amazing.

I kid you not when I say I'm in love with this animatic. In fact, this is probably the best OC animatic I've watched. I could go on about your artstyle and subtle lighting, but it's so much more than that. You managed to tell a story that is self explanatory while still making us curious to know more. Most OC animatics have stories that are hard to grasp out of context, not because they're complex but simply because we lack information. Yet here it's simple and efficient, it IS a short 4 minute story in itself that has the potential to be so much more. That's a perfect teaser. Not only is the song good, it's one you don't see many people use in animatics and you had the genius idea of making the character ACTUALLY sing it within the animatic, for plot reasons AND because it fits the atmosphere so well. You also have a good sense of cinematography: the shots are good and very fluidly follow each other, which makes it seem like a movie with slower moments, quicker ones, a suspense that develops itself and a tension that slowly grows and reaches its culmination in the last moment, when the singer seductively distracts the girl as his voice gets louder and his accomplice (his sister I imagine?) beats up her opponents to the tempo of the song.

Honestly, LOVE the animatic. With how nicely made it is, I can see this person being a top tier animator on day. Kinda sad I found this almost a year after it's posting (06/08/2021).
