For everyone who is going to DIY bearings, When packing bearing with grease you actually need to pack them, manually press grease into the bearing or get a tool to push grease into the bearing. Otherwise your bearing life will be short lived.

I am not the best, but if I packed my bearings like that I would be digging my truck out of the ditch after the wheel flew off. Not only did he not even repack the inner bearing he forgot the snap ring that holds the axle in. Just smearing grease on a bearing is not packing it, you have to force it between the rollers and the cage.

I couldn't wait on amazon for the socket so I bought a 4 prong one from the auto parts store and cut two of the prongs off with a grind wheel. Worked like a charm

Nice job,
but what happen with the locking ring you remove out with the Long needle nose pliers. You forgot to put it back.

Good video. I got it even though there wasn't any talkthrough. My Xterra is 13 years old. Alignment shop told me I had too much end play. I kept reseating the bearings but in the end figured at 135k miles with lots of it being off road miles, the bearings and race may be worn out even though they looked and sounded good. Replaced the races and bearings yesterday. I watched this video for the preloading of the new bearings. I gotta go get the tool now.

Thanks bud, probably best bet is to grab a copy of the electronic manual from the link above as I had to leave out alot of the preload procedure due to time constraints. The manual has pictures and explains clearly how to do it.

The bird noise makes this video calming.

The palms of your hands won’t bother you now after hitting the tools to loosen the bolts but give it about ten years and your gonna remember this day when you can’t even open a milk bottle

I have looked and looked for a wheel hub that resembles mine and yours is it! Can you tell me, if you wanted to change the lugs on the hub, would you be able to simply unbolt the front of the hub by loosening the 6 bolts that are positioned between the lugs and remove the front part of the hub to get the lugs out? Reason i ask is i tried loosening them a bit but they didn't seem to rotate normally, maybe because they have locktite on them or maybe for some other reason. After about half a turn I chickened out and rotated the bolt back to its original position when i felt it wasnt loosening as expected. I hope i made myself understandable.

Would this be the same procedure on a 4x4 D21 with the locking hub?

Would this be the same as the 87 Nissan Navara D21 2.4 petrol rear wheel drive? I’m actually getting ready to change my Rotors & brake pads & wheel bearings.

How do you think these bearings will cope with a neg 22 offset wheel and 31'' tyre?

Thanks for the vid.

Instead of making or buying the tool, is it not possible to use two phillips head screwdrivers and place them in the locking nut and then another bar between them to tighten the locking nut.

Hey mate can i get the Torque specs and the preload numbers as i be doing mine soon on a 98 D22 QD32 navara, and great video but when u did the bearing you should put pack grease in the bearing too.

after you remove the manuel hub, you take off another "thing" with spines and locking clip. does that thing belong to the manuel hub? because i have a navara 01 witout any hubs and that thing you remove. gonna buy new hubs for it but dont know what that is, if it comes with the hubs or?? sorry for bad englisch

Hi. When tightening the bearing nut, the braking plate have a little slightly slack?
