24 Hour Paint Job on the SRC Nova, Colorshift Supra & Wetsanding the Datsun

Lots done and even more to do! Billy asked if we could throw on a quick satin black paint job on the nova to get it looking presentable for the season. We have developed a friendship with the family, and enjoy working with them on their projects. So we scheduled a weekend that Jesse, Nikole and Paul could all focus on it 100% with no distractions. We didn’t expect to turn it over start to finish in 24 hours, but by controlling our OCD and working with the understanding that everything we’re doing WILL be stripped bare and redone next season; we were able to move through the process without cutting excessive corners.

Now back onto the rest of the projects we’ve been working on, and a few behind the scenes that we’re looking forward to showing you guys 🙂

hey guys, old collision tech here, there is nothing WRONG with painting a race car like that . the work yall do is nothing short of excellent !!! ITS VERY HARD TO MAKE A LIVING AT THIS TYPE OF BODY AND PAINT WORK !!!! i switched to late model collision work 25 or so years ago, people have no idea what it take to do this, great vid, showing my age LOL

I remember way back when Billy first got the Nova he mentioned maybe painting it gold with a black vinyl top like he had on an R/C car or he saw on an R/C car.
I'd love to see him do that combo, I think it would look so different & really stand out amongst all the black Nova's you see so often... you don't really see vinyl tops on the older cars, anymore.

I think once Billy saw Jeff's Dart with that satin/shiny stripe combo his mind was made up lol.
Can't wait to see it all finished up.

Worked in body shop for 5 years. 99.9% of the people have no clue how hard it is to do what HOP just did! Not to mention black shows all body errors/waves/dents/pits !! A+ job HOP people! WOW!

Billy’s Nova looks awesome for a quickie. So they went with purple?…….I’m sure y’all will knock it out of the park when finished and will be mesmerizing. Watching Nikki sand and buff explains why costs are so expensive, I’m sure she had way over 8 hours in making it shiny. Great job guys and gal.
