2022 Kia EV6 Review: A Few Missteps Short of Greatness

Not many cars, electric or otherwise, attract attention like the 2022 Kia EV6. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes close – ironic considering all they have in common. That includes a smattering of shortcomings that should be considered carefully before zeroing in on a purchase. Make no mistake: this is a very good electric vehicle (EV). But it’s also a few missteps short of being great.

Re: the rear wiper on this, I'm not sure it's necessary as the angle of the rear window is like a sedan and it has that spoiler to keep the wind from curling back onto the window but for sure the Ioniq 5 is a different story, it needs a rear wiper imo. As for the price, it's weird but Hyundai and Kia add in the delivery PDI into the price on their website whereas VW shows the price before the PDI and dealership scam charges. Not until you finish your build do you see the breakdown. So this is 62kish and the top ID4 and Ioniq 5 are the same. It''s all mute points though because unless you are a crazy fanatic who's willing to wait 18-24 months to maybe get your vehicle don't bother. LOL. The OEMs are just pretending to send cars to Canada.

Press the button on AC to turn off, as shown in manual.

This is first review of the EV6 that offers a few criticism.

Is the battery air cooled or liquid cooled? I heard for EVs in Canada we need liquid cooled batteries to prevent battery drain in winter.

For reference how tall are you, In regards to the head space?

the Wind trim w/o a sunroof offers much better headroom! I’m 6’6” I have no problems and don’t slouch in my Wind AWD.

of course people of the same height are not necessarily the same proportion of legs and torso so people just need to test drive to find out!

Another reviewer that did not do his homework and that makes categorically false statements. The EV6 DOES NOT NEED A REAR WIPER !. I have had many cars that needed and had one and the EV6 does not. The upper and lower spoilers in the EV 6 ensure that there is no dead air on the rear window and it is as clean or even better than any sedan that have ever owned (a lot).
The ONLY thing my EV6 needs is more cargo tie down straps. It is a rocket ship.

Just think that the presenter could have answered some of his own questions by looking at the owners manual 😂
