Had this done today. I've learned not all spinal injections are created equal. It depends on where you need to be injected if you will need a PA or not. I got both. The one that didn't require a PA didn't work. Made my legs feel incredibly heavy for days. And the pain came right back 😞 The one that did need a PA gave me a lot of relief. I still needed my oxycodone. But hopefully as time goes on i can ween off of of the narcotics and live a pain free regular life like anyone else.

? I had spinal fusion surgery over 13 years ago for scoliosis, the last few years I been having lower back especially in the hips n glutes. Chiropractic care helps a lil but would this injection be done directly on the nerve? I had a transforaminal injection last Wednesday, the 20th for my L4/L5 causing wild sciatica and have been bedridden and not been able to stand for more than 5 mins since before intolerable sciatic pain and lower butt pain and hamstring discomfort (new symptom) sets in. Procedure itself was textbook and doctor is very experienced. No symptoms of dural leak or weakness or numbness or tingling aka nerve damage. I was walking 15, 000+ steps a day for the last 10 weeks without issues and my only issue was sciatica and sitting for long periods. Doctor thinks the epidural irritated my nerves and I’m now on a medrol pack. A second shot was suggested two weeks from the first but I’m so nervous about it irritating my nerves again and causing the same debilitation. Any advice?
