Great video curious on where you as a provider would do the AAA stuff to authenticate or deny a cable modem user. For example is this done with your provisioning server or thru the CMTS. I imagine you can configure it both ways but just trying to understand typically what an service provider would configure it like. It looks like under the provisioning> modems> option in the webbased software for the CMTS. Like some sort of mac modem filtering type of thing that how most turn on and off there service. But curious to see a video on how you setup AAA it could be done thru a provisioning server as well to deny routing/ or allow routing of certain peoples packets, heck one could even do it at a fire wall level... many possibilities. Maybe you could go thru which ones are more suited for what applications in terms of size /structure ...etc of providers

Thought Cisco cmts had built in provisioning

Never setup any CMTS or DSLAMS but they look similar how you configure a cisco router/switch by your video with some extra things. Though the basics are there.... SNMP, DOMAINS, DHCP, QOS,VOIP...etc Could you make a video going thru the features of the CMTS webbased interface i am curious of some of the features in endpoints, cmts, ip ports, contacts, GLOBAL, HFC ...etc.

Every time I go into configure terminal and try to type interface cable slot / port

It keeps giving me an error won't take my commands.

Do you know why?
