Don't Trust This Man in Pakistan! 🇵🇰

Karachi, Pakistan ➖ After a short flight from Lahore to Karachi, I was back where the first Pakistan series began. It was nostalgic walking out of those airport gates, reminding me of my first trip here in 2021. I decided to head to the main road to find a rickshaw to Clifton Beach where I was staying. Luckily enough, I found a friendly local who dropped me at the rickshaw stand and I got a ride for 600rs.

After struggling to find my accommodation, I finally checked into my beachfront hotel with views of Clifton Beach. It was then time to head out to the beach and have some fun! I reluctantly got a short horse ride to the main part of Clifton Beach where the action takes place. But after the ride finished, I was shocked to be asked for 3000rs when we originally agreed on 200rs. With scams like this, I try my hardest to not give in, as it can affect how tourists are scammed after me. But this guy just wouldn't stand down, after a few minutes of arguing and a bit of physical action taking place, I decided to run over to some friendly locals to get me out of this situation. After another 5 minutes of arguing, the horse scammer wouldn't back down and we finally settled for 1000rs.

This was the first time something like this has happened to me in Pakistan, but luckily I could rely on the friendly Pakistani people to get me out of this tricky situation. Afterwards, we found an ATV and chatted to some more friendly locals on the beach.

My thoughts upon the recent news of the horse boy being arrested.

Thank you to Karachi Police for taking action and dealing with this situation accordingly, and most importantly keeping Pakistan 🇵🇰 safe 🙏

I do want to say something quickly.

This boy is young just like myself, and we all make mistakes... especially as youngsters.

I hope he learns from this experience and treats others with the respect they deserve. I don't know how the legal process works in Pakistan or what is to be done next. But I do ask of everyone that if you see this young boy, please be kind.

I know what he did was upsetting and unacceptable, and surely he will learn from this. But being kind to one another is the most important thing, even if we've made mistakes in the past.
