Those 62 dislikes are from the mean supervisors😂😂

A lot of people underestimate how much power customers have in these kinds of situations. If I see an employee being treated badly by their supervisor, I'm going to report the supervisor to _their_ supervisor (and likely rant and rave about how wonderful the employee in question was, because I know the supervisor is going to try to pull some shit).

No one really knows how tired it is to work in this kind of toxic environment.

I still remember my first year, crying on the bus on the way to work because I was so scared of being bullied by managers or fellow crew, even now I still get it from time to time, but I've learned to fight back. These people are so toxic and predatory, the minute they feel that you're weak they'll keep picking on you. Going to work shouldn't be this anxiety inducing, I hope they do some sort of psychological test for all crew, because the amount of narcissists and sociopaths I've encountered in the airline industry is way too high. Stay strong my people.

People like this exists everywhere..there was this supervisor in our airline who was a nightmare. Everyone literally used report sick on her flight. She even got 7-8 people terminated. Finally one crew gathered some evidence of her being rude and mean threatening other crew members and send it over to the base manager and she got terminated😂😂 she used to make crew practice emergency commands in the hotel during layover..what a psycho😂😂

im cabin crew for BA and watching this makes me realise how easy we have it and the atmosphere is a lot more chill with less back stabbing.

As a pilot myself, during a flight from Toronto to Dubai, I actually noticed this and felt the hostility and unfriendlyness among flight attendants.

I was an Emirates cabin crew for seven years before I went to private flying. Although reflecting back, I am truly grateful for the experience I gained and the exciting life I lived, not to mention friends and beautiful people I had met along my EK journey. However, I also had countless bad experiences with "supervisors on a power trip" mostly due to their insecurities and ignorance. At one point that backstabbing culture was so bad and escalated almost regularly on each and every flight, I was on, among the crew. It was very sad, but that was the culture the office management was supportive of. Finally, I could not see myself working constantly in that unhealthy environment, so I decided to leave for private.
Still, Emirates holds a big piece in my heart. Wish them all the best and to the friends, I still have flying for them. Fly safe and stay safe.

I work for LH since 31 years now. I m a Purser since 21 years. What s going on at these mid eastern airlines like Emirates is a nightmare! These very old fashion way to lead employees is so so last century! People will not build up any loyalty if you treat them like that. An atmosphere of fear is a very bad way to ensure safety also. If you always think you might make a mistake and will be punished you might not want to report something "strange" because you might be wrong and then get again punished. Flight attendants must be encouraged to speak free! Mistakes are a chance to learn. To learn and to improve iso punishment and fear. The Crewspirit and the atmosphere is the most important thing for success. A Crew that really cares. An atmosphere were you can also lough and be a professional you. Passengers don't wanna see cold, fake flight attendants. You make a little mistake..? So what .. we are all just humans. But all that gives a flight an atmosphere. An environment were everybody feel good and safe.

For the supervisor tagging along: just include him/her in a new group chat then “ cancel “ the outing. And use an other chat to organize the outing with your colleagues.

So interesting to know that the issues are the same at ALL airlines. I am what you would call a “supervisor” at my airline and I had to laugh. Remembered that I made a commitment to myself that when if I became a “supervisor” that I would never be that way. We all know the different types you must deal with. My theory is how would l like to be treated in this situation. And seriously, humor helps a great deal and can diffuse many situations. Trust me I am FAR from perfect, but do my best to support my crews. As the saying goes, It’s Not What You Say, It’s What You Do.

Former FA for an American carrier. Had an evil senior attendant who just wouldn't let up on me. All the other FA's kept asking what her problem was with me. After several weeks, I had enough, and quit! Walked off the plane during boarding. They had to cancel the flight and deadhead another FA in to get the plane out. LOL

Emirates needs some organizational psychologists like me to work there. What you’ve described is a prime example of how I work with managers and supervisors to create a positive team environment that is encouraging and supportive thereby providing a better image to the traveling public. What you’ve described is clearly a systemic culture problem within Emirates as a Company. It’s never ok for a supervisor or manager to treat employees like you’ve described.

unfortunately there are a lot of frustrated and uneducated people in these jobs who didn't make it out of it and never will.. they project their problems on others. Such behaviour is just embarassing and actually makes me cringe. I feel bad for these mean supervisors, their life is pretty miserable (from an Ex-cabin crew)

As a former flight attendant in LCC, I completely understand and relate all the 10 things you mentioned, especially the bully supervisor part. I had the exact same experience like you when I was still new in the company and the supervisor kept bullying for being ‘slow’ and expecting me performed excellently like those seniors who work longer in the company which was not very realistic for me.

I never ever leave comment on ANY youtube videos.

But maan, can I just say what an amazing job you do with your videos!!! The way you prepare your content is just wow! I dont know if all your subscribers see how much work you are putting on one video. The way your sentences sound. Very consequent.
Also time frame in discription box -amazing!

From a colleague down the road - i really admire your videos. Wish you all the best with your youtube channel!

My mum is an Alitalia cabin purser, she once told me that when Etihad's managment in Alitalia was in place, super strict Etihad supervisors came in. They were as silly as you discribed here, apart from one she flown with, that was so tired because of high workload, that slept the whole flight. I'm not surprised that these middle eastern airlines press their employees until they're exhausted

Finally someone spoke up about harassment in Emirates. Personally I have story’s and story’s about the same subject, if there would be more of us to talk about it, maybe our former college’s wouldn’t go through same torture today. Thank you for this video. Respect. Btw i’m pretty sure i’ve flown with you, wherever you are at this point of you’re life I wish you all the best 😉
