Chongqing is one of the biggest megacities cities in the world, yet it still lays very much undiscovered by some. We had been wanting to travel to Chongqing for quite some time and when we finally got the chance we were not disappointed, it's insane! It was such a cool city with so many amazing things to do. We spent a week there and have compiled this guide to show you some of the best things to do in the city.

I think Chongqing is the most cyberpunk city of China. Very very interesting, sometimes you will feel lost in this city.

This place is ridiculous. I visited 2 years ago and the city felt like something out of a movie or video game. There were SO many people and buildings upon buildings far into the distance. Truly and outrageous city

Hi Nico. I've lived in Chongqing for 15 years now and loved your film. Ten minutes hardly does the city Justice considering it is a city of 32M people and you did miss a couple of prime areas. Plenty of opportunities next time😁. Glad you had a good time.

I was born in Hunan but had my university in Chongqing. Chongqing has accepted me in open arms. I am happy to say that I am a Chongqinger rather than a Hunanese . This happened to be true for a lot of my classmates from other places. What made this? The people and the local culture. In my time there was no skyscrapers and bo air-conditioning but we fell in love with the city and it's unique sense of wellbeing and humor. It's gentle interior but hard exterior...

Wow! I had no idea Chongqing was that big. The infrastructure is incredible, and I particularly loved The Great Hall of the People building. Great video! 😀

You did this interesting city justice.
Even though there are many places in China you’ve yet to visit I think this won’t be the last time you take the high speed train to Chongqing! :D

We visited Chongqing in 2019 and stayed there for about a week. One of my favourite places in the world. Great video!

The one thing I would miss living in Chongqing is riding a bike through the whole city. It can be tricky to get around by foot and bike 🤭

Once upon a time I would have done anything to live in a place like this. Today, I understand that it is madness ! Happiness lies in simple things and true progress is being able to understand it

It's really great to live here in Chongqing. You get the Chinese experience as an expat unlike other big cities in China. There are not alot of westerners here and nobody speaks English. It makes you interact with the people here. They are so friendly & helpful.

Having lived in CQ for 14 years I spent much of my free time exploring and blogging about what I found on various English language forums so I appreciate what you've managed to cover in such a short pithy video. Well done.
Just a comment about the population though.... Chongqing is the name of the municipality annexed from Sichuan in 1997 which includes the capital city of Chongqing and multiple second and third tier cities, hundreds of small towns, and thousands of villages. The population of 30+ million refers to the municipalities population, not that of the capital city !
CQ has changed so much since I first stepped off a plane in early 2003. My first impressions where very different to what a visitor experiences today. Perhaps that is one of the reason she has remained one of China's best kept secrets full of hidden gems for anyone prepared to take a closer look.
