What a dumb advice. In 50 years you will be 70 plus years old if you start investing in your 20s. There is fairly decent chance that you will be either dead by that time or have less than perfect health.
Look around you, how many 70 plus year olds have energy or health to do the things that 20 something or 30 something are able to do.

But at 70+, even a billion dollars is worthless. Money is only valuable so long as you are healthy and somewhat young. Once you lost all of that money won't be worth much.
