1975? Really? It's so much better than a lot of that kind of films today..
The courage, tension, emotions are blown and gives different kinds of feelings at the same time.
Though the effects of shark are weak at some point, but for that time, we can clearly see it is a good movie.

I remember watching this in the front row (only seats left) of a totally packed theater and the whole place screaming and cheering at the same time as Brody did. And to think Spielberg was just hoping to make a little money and that a few people would show up to watch his movie.
