The problem has been resolved now, Burson replaced my Soloist as well as my Focal Clear, they have a really nice customer service.

According to Burson, this is an isolated issue. I have 2 units and never had complaints, only when an op-amp goes bad you get a static noise in one channel.
I'm glad you sorted things out.

I don't feel this is such an isolated problem. There are like 3 other accounts of this brand killing headphones in the forums. My conductor 3xR is started to exhibit this issue when I swapped out 2 vivids to classics in LP stage. Starting to get static on right side sometimes followed by some weird coil wine metal popping on my right headphone(really scary for a susvara). I'm using Susvara so this is not cool if it explodes...a amp should never do this kinda stuff...

I had the a similar problem i think. Turned out to be a loose/shorting socket under one of the opp amps. Intermittent with me as well. To locate the problem, I plugged it in with the case open and when it worked OK, I gently touched the red opp amps. One of them suddenly generated that noise in the left channel for me. I switched the opp amps round and it still did it on the same channel so obviously a socket problem rather than a faulty opp amp. Had the amp exchanged under warranty. Hope you got it sorted as its a great amp ! Nearly shit myself when it happened first time, lucky my Empyreans wearnt damaged !

An amplifier should never be turned on with the volume beyond 0db. Never connect headphones with the source turned on. Even the manual says so. Of course, nobody seems to read the manuals

Before this, I found that some time when I just turn on the power, even without connecting to the source, it generate very loud hiss noise (can clearly hear it a few feet away from the headphone, can’t bear with it with headphone on my head, like the one in the video but never last this long), the noise last for 20 - 30 seconds, then no more during the following usage. So it was still usable, and not happen every time, it usually happens when it off for a long time (8 hrs) then turn on. I always disconnect my headphones when I’m not using according to their manual, but it still happened time to time. I have contacted Burson through the dealer, but haven't got any response, during the waiting, I was trying to record some proof, but now I'm so regret for it, I should have returned it directly, now it cost my $1500 headphone.
