"Alive" is the lead single off P.O.D.'s second major label studio album Satellite. It is arguably the band's most popular song and serves as an anthem of celebrating life. The "Alive" CD single was first released in 2001 and then again in 2002 with alternative cover art and tracks. A semi-acoustic remix was included as a bonus track on the special edition re-release of Satellite available August 27, 2002.

I was 21 when this came out. 2001 was the best year for Nu Rock. I love this song so much. So many memories go with it. And all the great songs from that year. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

This song came out early 2001 and thought it was catchy and a good song. After 9/11 the song had comforted a lot of people and the lyrics had really a new meaning to a lot of us traumatized by what we all witnessed that day. It definitely gave me some comfort during a depressing time and tried to live each day like it was my last mentality. You can't take what you may have for granted
