There’s lots of ways for people to get “hurt”…ESPECIALLY in this SUE-happy country we’ve got.

I've hit the props on some hand catches on the mini 2.

It hurts.... but not a cut! No drawn blood!

I LOVE that y'all used your actual fingers to see the damage! Thank you for your service to science and I'm glad everyone is ok 😂

About a year ago or so, I was flying my Mavic Air 2 in a park. Then a few people came to play soccer. So I moved and asked them if they mind me flying around, and over them from time to time?
They didn't mind, but did I do the wrong thing? Or was I okay to let them know about flying above them from time to time? And without prop guards
Thanks for sharing Jack. 👍👍👍

Nice video but I have to disagree, as does the wider drone community of responsible, FAA liscenced pilots. A mini 3 Pro, as you have tested, meets the criteria for ops over people. Heres why: the FAA says: the drone must "Contain no exposed rotating parts that would cause lacerations." - 1. There is no requirement for guards. 2. A cut is typically thought of like a wound caused by a sharp object (such as a knife or a shard of glass). The term laceration implies a torn or jagged wound that is likely to bleed heavily and requires emergency medical attention. Testing has already proven you wrong. Please correct your information. Misinformation on the net is bad enough as it is and it hurts our community as a whole. Keep up the good work though👍

The first flight of my EMAX EZ Pilot, a weaker & brushed version of the Tinyhawk, I flew it into my face and cut my chin. Anything that spins blades can lacerate your skin.

I have definitely been cut trying to hand catch landing...even with prop guards!

Today I flew my mini two SE in the desert, phone got too hot couldn’t land the drone (didn’t know how to). I tried to grab it by hand and turn it off. Cut my middle finger decently. Not off, but gave me some deep cat scratches.
lol man the amount of blood was not nice for my first drone flight. My fault.

Prop guards are optional. The test is if it can lacurate you.

is good to have propeller guard in case of emergency if the drone landing in law battery or just hit something ur drone will safe because of the propeller guard no need to repair ur drone.

Great tests! What is the cinewhoop you're holding at 5:30? Is it under 250g with the battery as well?

While testing some new props in the shop I hit the stick wrong. My Mini 2 flew straight into my face. Thankfully I was wearing safety glasses as it hit me square between the eyes slicing the bridge of my nose all the way up. The skin on a average persons hands are pretty tough..yet softer areas like a face..slices like a warm knife thru butter.

I have been sliced by one of my mini 3 pro blades. I wasn't paying attention on a takeoff and it came at me and I tried to catch it in the air and it cut my index finger

i think you're interpreting the FAA rule a little strange. The only way you can avoid lacerations is to have a kill switch for safety. AFAIK no DJI drones have this set up by default, but every FPV drone / custom / betaflight etc... have a kill switch set up by default, and a failsafe setup by default to stop motors.

How much do those prop guards weigh? The Mini 3 weighs less than the Mini 3 Pro.

My Mini 2 sliced my finger and drew blood when I miscalculated trying to catch it by hand.
