So by the end of series, Mary has mostly adjusted and is overcoming the trauma of future shock. Spider gives her a digital camera to resume her trade as a photographer and the first thing she takes a picture of is him.

Finally a dark comic that isn’t poorly written and overly edgy

So we got a redhead named Mary who meets a guy called Spider who is also a journalist.

Definitely never seen something like that before...

This is like a dark multiverse variant of Futurama.

To anyone who is thinking this is Garth Ennis you're forgetting that Garth is incapable of writing a story with any form of subtlety in cleverness this was written by one Warren Ellis

Wish they animated the movie like spiderverse style

Transmetropolitan! One of the best comic series ever made! ❤

Transmetropolitan is still one of the best comic book series I ever read. As an example, this brilliant concept was just a side story in a much larger tapestry

Atleast she wasn't revived in the 40th Millennium

This is like Idiocracy, but it much more worse than last time.

NGL, the second I heard *"Spider"* knowing this is a comic book I was half expecting to hear... _"and then Morlum arrived, killed the Spider variant and made the story worse..."_

THis fails to mention the revival of the frozen dead is like a grudging fulfillment of a contract. Mary was in her 60s when she died. The freezing completely destroyed her corpse so they grow her another, get her very basic accommodations and let her go
Bit of a shitshow
But, by the end of the series, Mary has adapted quite well, thanks to the irascible asshole Spider Jerusalem, whose compassion to her pays off huge
Fantastic series, buy it, read it, don't make it into a shitty Netflix adaptation!

this sounds like a documentary of today as opposed to a fantasy.

This is one of my favorites. I still have some of my old issues from over a decade.
I've owned several pairs of Spider styled glasses.
The comic is dark, gritty, satirical and thought provoking.
The fact that the main character is basically the dystopian Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (one of my heroes) made it the icing on the cake.💚👍😈

I can totally see certain places becoming reminiscent of this future one day.

Omg I love Transmetropolitan it’s so full of great predictions that already were true when they were predicted, lol like “in the far future we’ll have this social issue… that’s already an issue in the past… but now it’s in the future…” I’m ripping on it, but it’s honestly incredible, and I think about Spider Jerusalem a lot.

Transmetropolitan. I can tell from the thumbnail and description. One of Warren Ellis's best works. Specifically this issue.
