I know Nathan isn't half Latino, but the show should have explained that's why he speaks fluent Spanish, as well as given some backstory about his father.

I always thought the reason he spoke Spanish was because freddie was probably practicing for his Spanish classes. He always seemed like the smart (trying to get ahead) type in school so it made sense to me that he would try to practice Spanish as much as he could to do well in school.
