That photograph that you’re looking at that was a poster was actually taken by Linda McCartney in 1966 for a press junket in New York City

Another great video, Andrew. Regarding RCA Studios, they NEVER produced a great sound from anyone. Chess Studios, on the other hand, gave them a great sound which was recorded and mixed in true stereo. The mono mixes of the tracks recorded there were mere folddowns but quality ones.

Hope you make some more Stones-centric (as well as Who, Kinks, Moodies, Hollies and Floyd-related) videos soon. They, like the Hollies video, are a great companion to The Beatles-centric videos.

I do love the Beatles, but I have to say that I really enjoy when you explore releases from other acts of the past from time to time. Keep up the excellent work!

My box is on its way so. Thanks for your excellent take on it.

There were really only a few basic label typefaces that record companies were using in the 60s. There's so much attention to detail to replicate the sleeves and the label backgrounds on these reissues that I can't believe that they couldn't create digital versions of those typefaces instead of just saying "meh" and picking something that looks vaguely similar.

Excellent video, thanks. "We want the Stones, We want the Stones"!

Really had to laugh out LOUD when I read about Stu Sutcliffe playing the organ with the Stones at Chess Studios (9:17). How in the world did they reanimate him? Poor forgotten Ian Stewart.

I enjoyed this video, and encourage you to dig deeper and share more about the Rolling Stones as you have with the Beatles.

Luckily, I don't want any of this stuff, but it's enjoyable listening to you talk about it.

Great review! I managed to get this box set for $50 due to a slightly damaged box corner; the discs are mint though. I did find it cheap from ABKCO for not including "Paint It, Black", "Mother's Little Helper" and "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow?" as they were all released in 1966, though they of course will appear on the upcoming box.

Very weird to see American London 45s with the small hole. I bought the Morrissey singles box and they had the same kind of 180g-style thickness. Awesome review! (And there's that outro I love so much!)

I remember once seeing an interview with Keith Richards during which he affectionately referred to the Stones early singles as “those old rough records”

I've got the 1989 vinyl 4 album set entitled "singles collection, the London years." It contains 58 songs including US and UK b-sides. It also contains a 70 page full size booklet with lots of photos, song lyrics, recording session info, etc. It covers recordings from 1963 to 1970, although a few songs were released a little later. I have long since digitized the albums, but still have the originals in perfect condition.

My brother gifted me this set for my B-Day. Other than a CD of the live, Get Your Ya Yas Out, these are my own Stones recordings. Sorry I sold my vinyl Beggar's Banquet and Exile On Main Street.

Just put my order through for this one, excellent video as usual! And as others have said, I’m also enjoying the content featuring other bands of the 60s! It makes a great companion to your Beatles content. Looking forward to more videos featuring The Stones (and perhaps The Beach Boys?) in the future!

If Apple did an all-analog Capitol singles set… I’d probably buy it! Finding originals in decent shape is quite a challenge!

side note: at 9:47, marty wilde (on the poster) is the father of kim wilde and ricky wilde (who produced her albums)

Well done! Looking forward to getting this and Beatles' box set (as long as their prices don't go much higher over here). The 7" format is the main reason I started collecting vinyl records.

Typically thorough review🤩👍.. as usual. Very enjoyable. Only downside is ABKCO profits from it. Would be fun to have this set and the Beatles set and have a Beatles/Stones 45 RPM party🤪.

In around 1984 I bought the first 2 stones EPs as reissues on 12" vinyl they always to me are the best sounding records of the stones from that era
