I’ve had my 2017 CMax for 4 years and now 87k miles. Best car I’ve ever owned. Great fuel economy, especially when you figure out how to manipulate the pedal to keep the electric engine on more often.

I bought a 2015 new, it’s been a great car. Current has 54k miles and have never averaged below 40mpg. Surprisingly powerful, definitely so for a hybrid. It’s a bit analog as hybrids go as mine doesn’t have any special modes, I just learned good throttle and brake modulation to get the most mpg. The upside is the techniques I learned can be applied to any car to improve efficiency.

I have the last year model non Energi. I knew they were discontinued and there were many on lots highly discounted. I purchased as a tow behind vehicle for RV (one of very few non-4x4 auto transmission vehicles that can be towed 4 down). It has been a perfect toad. I got the top end Titanium edition for just a little over half of MSRP. Great timing. With todays market, its value is still more than I paid for it over 4 years ago. As a bonus, Ford gave 0% financing.

I average 42 mpg and get 50 if I work on it. For short in town trips 35 mph and under, I can keep it on electric continuously but even on highway it gets great mpg.

I’ve had mine since 2017 and can’t find a suitable replacement. The US Ford dealers didn’t know how to sell it. I average 41.5 MPG and don’t think about it while driving. In fact the car drives like a normal car.

I decided to test drive a Cmax in 2018. Went to my local Carmax and found a high end 2017 with a leather interior. Actually, I suspect the material was vinyl, due to its thin look and lack of leather aroma. No sunroof! What? The car did drive well, unlike a Prius. No grabby brakes, and plenty of punch. The overall impression I got was that this was a fairly good cheap car, but not one that would last. The lack of sunroof was a deal breaker. The car I drove had 12, 000 miles, but due to the many little noises I heard, seemed like 50, 000. No sale. Good decision!

I’m glad I found your video. I just test drove a c max 2014. I like it but it made a growl noise that I am not use to. I never drove a hybrid so I don’t what they sound like. However I heard the same growl noise when you pushed on the gas. So Maybe normal ?

I test drove a prius and the windsheild setup made me feel like I was looking thru a periscope, especially after about 10 years in a honda fit. How is the visibility out of the cmax (and for context on that evaluation, how tall are you?)

Questions for owner: does the backseat power outlet work without the engine turned on? I want to know if I can use it while car camping to power light or charge my laptop.
Also does the vent at the back actually blow air? My 2016 kia Forte has vents but close to nothing comes out from it, even at max power.
Lastly, can you use the video input freely? Meaning can I output videos for kids while driving?

The external design is good, the inside interior design sorry to say, need much work.

Is there a locking gas tank plug for 2013? Gas is expensive now, can't afford to have anyone steal my gas.

I sold them new. They had issues with the batteries and people couldn't get in the car. Look at a Prius for a more reliable Hybrid.

I hate Prius interior and overall finish quality. This Cmax seems good but little odd outside. .. slightly better than Prius anyway. I'll check Hyundai now. But prices are crazy.. so probably I'll cancel.my purchase and keep.my Dale little more

That sounds freaking horrible when you get a Toyota his a Toyota hybrid that gets about 40 to 50 miles per gallon and only have 20 mile electric rings Dick range that's just horrible to my opinion that Edgar is not worth it especially considered to get a one eye job especially consider what a high dollar for
