In this video I do a quick-18 hour-solo backpacking trip in the Cleveland National Forest and explore a pine forest as well as a seasonal 'hidden' lake. Just a few patches of snow holding on as the temperatures warm.

Breathtaking scenery my friend, these landscapes are simply stunning!

On the map it looks like Pine Mountain / Indian Potrero is just north of this lake which probably easier to reach. This hike is on my bucket list for this spring. Thanks for making the video.

Is there map available for this trail?

Do you need any kind of permit to go out backpacking or camping overnight in the Cleveland national forest?

Lovely. My daughter and I camped in the middle of that lake when it was bone dry once, taking the exact same bushwhack. 😊 We also noted that great campsite along Indian Creek. Such a lovely area. Looks like you took a better way down. That’s the way I’d take up next time. Cheers!

Really well done brotha, . Love the solitude you had all by yourself and that was an awesome sunset & sunrise. Yeah I remember that bush wacking and it’s no joke! Lucky to not get any ticks for you. Thanks really enjoyed that!

Great video and trip Brad! Andrea and I enjoyed this one. Very pretty back there, bushwacking looked like no fun! Cool little lake.

That looks like a great one to take advantage of this wet year. I Imagine on a more typical dry year it wouldn't be as nice. Also nice to occasionally do those " easy" trips that allow for some luxuries like brewed coffee.

I remember some hikes in Schad's book where he recommends bringing clippers for the vegetation. I wonder if anyone has come up with ultralight clippers?
