Thanks Shana. I just used to use them for sketching only for my acrylics and watercolours, but never on themselves though.

You talked in this video about not comparing your drawing to anything because you're not using a reference photo. I have to remind myself a lot, even when I am using a reference photo, that, at the end of the day, I have to judge my piece on it's own merits. Sometimes I like a drawing on it's own, but not compared to the reference photo and other times, I've done something because it was in the photo, only to find that it doesn't make my piece look good. If I like or, on the other hand, don't like a piece I'm doing, why should it matter how it looks compared to the original. I'm talking about something I'm doing for myself, of course, not a commission, in which case, making it look like the reference photo is obviously much more important.
