I'm just about finished restoring my 460 - it has a few of the same tubes I notice. Mine was dead though - but the power transformer and the CRT were good; no deflection in either direction and no response to any controls. But with those two big parts working, everything else was easily obtainable and replaced. Nice job, thanks for posting.

I've got the old 460 model that I just finished restoring. What a boat anchor!

Много добър осцилоскоп.
Аз има подобен, но е ссср LO70 почти нов работил е само 6 часа за последните 50 години..
Разбира се сега младите специалисти предпочитат дигиталните осцилоскопи с които се работи лесно и бързо...

For the tilt on a lot of those old scope you have to actually rotate the whole tube. The tilt varies based on the magnetic field of the Earth. So it would be different in New York than in California, etc.

Hi,
New to your channel. Excellent. I just watched "Mr Carlson's Lab" "Patreon" site, and after seeing his vid I have just bid for one of these on eBay. He is putting up a "build" for a component analysis (in-circuit tester) interface using this scope or similar. I look forward to using it in this role. Cool little scope.
Thanks again.

So your generator has to have a phase control to get a perfect circle right?

That is such a cool scope....I would replace that electrolytic can capacitors....that is what i do with all the old Hallicrafters shortwave radios i work on...or any kind of radio with a can cap....nice video..

i just got one of these out of a goodbytes store (strange) but it's labeled "RCA Institutes Inc." in the place where this one says EICO. It also has 6 plugs at the back instead of that switch.

Upon opening my eyes i also noticed that the schematic im looking at is from your site, thanks.

Why didn't you try the internal sync? Lack of triggering makes the use of this oscilloscope very limited.

What camcorder did you use? Very nice sharp and clear picture.

nice vintage scope. probably all other capacitors must be replaced and sync will work well

oscilloscope looks like an old monochrome tv displaying a sine wave.

Thanks for your video! Do you or anyone out there, know much about SENCORE Handiscope PS148 5" and Vetroscope? I also have Simpson Handiscope model 466. I think it is also about 5" round CRT - this scope powers up and that is all I know about it. The PS148 doesn't power up, so I must repair it. I'll appretiate if anyone can give me helping hand to get them working so I can take it to show them up in clubs and shows I attend. Thanks!

Nice. I built one similar during my RCA Institutes days.

So you need an osiloscop to fix an osiloscop
