Guyaju is a mysterious cave system located on the steep slopes of a granite mountain not far from Beijing. Covering an area of 24 acres, Guyaju reveals sophisticated engineering knowledge and advanced craftsmanship. The general belief is the caves are at least 1,000 years old but scholars are uncertain of their true age.

Guyaju shares distinct similarities with other ancient cave systems in both Europe and America. The theory exists that Guyaju was an ancient fortified residential complex. We remain uncertain, however, about who constructed these remarkable caves and how their incredible construction was achieved in the distant past. Surviving tool marks within these caves resemble modern machine marks just like the large uniformed marks currently found at Yangshan Quarry, Baalbeck and Petra. Is it quite possible that Guyaju was created by a lost ancient civilization?

This is my YouTube Channel “Curious Being.” I have a lot of interesting topics to share, such as Lost Ancient Human Civilizations, Megalithic Sites, and other related studies. History vs. Mystery revealed! Thank you for watching.

Photos and films came from online sources.

Another chapter of your research from a global perspective 👏 The global perspective that is conceived in your research is truly distinctive. An apartment with a “mountain as a roof” and steep entrances must have provided safety from dangers from above and below as well as from extreme temperatures. The will to survive and the technical skills teach me to look at the distant past with even more respect than before and make me humble.

When, who and, why were these awesome monumental constructed?
I'm glad you asked the question about all this.
No hysterical speculation.
Just interesting and intriguing mysteries....
You are doing a good job 👍

Without putting down other web sites on the same subjects as “ Curious Being “ you ask and answer all the questions that are so relevant. I start to get very frustrated at Ben and Matt, etc, when the obvious answers are not addressed.
I could go on and on. But your site is truly delightful.
Thanks Tina

This reminds me a lot of Native American dwellings in west U.S. This is an astonishing video. Thanks for educating us.

I think the way ancient people often used cave dwellings was mainly for sleeping and storage. I think they spent their waking time in front of the structure in what you might think of as a public square or commons. This is where cooking and craftswork would occur.

I agree with the similarity to castles. Nobles were likely housed in the caves, while poor people had huts. It's the classic urban / suburban division, or fortified acropolis idea.

I would think that these manmade caves provide two protections (from above and from below). Protection from above - involving something falling or beaming from above - being blocked by the cave ceilings and walls. Protection from below - involving not wanting to share your safety zone with strangers/intruders - being blocked by the location, height, stairs, and narrow passages.

In 2011, I was at your Bama caves. What a treat. China you must do more to publicise your tourist attractions and let us know they are there, so we can add them to our lists of things to do. Nice video. Show us more of Chinas wonders.

Your video on this subject is well researched and an excellent presentation! Although I knew of most of the other sites mentioned, I had never heard of Guyaju Caves before. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I have only recently found your YouTube channel, but have enjoyed all of your videos thus far. Please keep up your good work!

not only do many countries have these similar man made cave systems that points to a global advance civilization, but all over Europe there are tunnels connecting to each other all over as well.

These cave systems could have been used as concealed forts the front of which was covered
over with brick or stone and camouflaged to conceal it from view.
The use of charcoal you would also make it harder to find due to the fact that you would have no smoke.
There is a place called Mesa Verde the has cliff dwellings that took advantage of natural caves that had large
complexes built into them, some of these still have the coverings over the front of them so that it looks like a cliff face.

You did an excellent job here. Your details were exceptional, love that you noted the height of the rooms, the various locations, . I a!m wondering how they were orientated, where they facing north east west or south in general. A lot of ancient structures have polyangle masonry and these do not setting them apart as another highly technical advance ancient civilization that we know literally nothing about. I have seen these particular styles in India as well and well it does share a lot with Egyptian stone cutting ( if you look an unfinished oblique accredited to HatShepSut you'll see that the stone path around it has the same cutouts for people to walk on as these do. No one knows how this is done- it even brings up the topic of melting Stone and cutting it like butter, or simply scooping it out. Thanks- this type of post I could go on and on about, ...

Great presentation, you manage to add a lot of the details most other videos on the topic tend to leave out (eg. The height of the Caves, and the people's ditto). Thanks 😊 👍

definitely interesting - today at Coober Pedy in South Australia people live underground to escape the harsh surface temperatures . This is an Opal mining settlement and the miners simply used their digging methods to make residences (the ground is relatively soft unlike granite - it is hard to see a nomadic people gouging out solid rock dwellings and then reverting to yurts - diametrically different lifestyles. the starling similarities in details, 'footpaths' and style from far distant places are indeed thought provoking . Excellent research to turn up such similarities.
