Sounds a little too simplistic to be helpful, imho. If the goal is to run a marathon, one does not run marathons for training, but one can follow a detailed training plan with lots of different elements.🏃A complex app is a bit like marathon. One has to do many varied things first in order to tackle the final goal.

Exactly, whatever you want to get good at, do it a lot. Do it everyday until you have mastered it.

Do something, then reflect on what went well and what did not. Based on that info, do it again but in a more informed manner. That's why working on projects is a good way to get better at programming.
