I don't think it's a "new" thing.

UFC was much more similar to the WWE back in the day—Tank Abbott was cutting promos in the octagon, Carmen Electra was paraded as their official spokesperson, and guys like Chuck & Tito had epic entrances with PYRO and titantron video packages.

Nowadays, it's just trash-talking. But boxing's been doing that for YEARS and nobody calls it "WWE." Not to mention, BJ once cut a promo on GSP saying, "I'm gonna try to kill you and I'm not joking about this."

Rory is playing a dangerous game here, An in shape focused BJ is still one of the best fighters on the planet. The extra preparation time BJ received because of the fight being postponed as well as the Motivation Rory is providing him with may just be enough for BJ to get the upset !
Love Rory, but i don't think this is a smart tactic !
