The Start Network Drought Financing Facility is an NGO-led network of national facilities, which aim to enable faster and more coordinated response in major emerging drought situations. The facility involves scientific modelling of drought risks, focussed scenario-based contingency planning and pre-positioned financing. The objective is to deploy funds in a faster, more efficient way to civil society responders to protect communities at risk of major droughts.
