Over the last year I have been testing out some handmade pouches from a company called PackBack Designs.

As you may be aware of, I’m a big fan of what I call Kit Bags - I carry with me various size bags and in each of them I keep my gear - organized into themes.

I will have a cook kit, food kit, Power Kit and so on.

With these PackBack Design bags, they are made right here in the USA, they are handmade, they are ultralight, ultralight high quality and to put it bluntly, i can easily recommend them.

I started doing this during the 1st Gulf War. In the middle of nowhere is not the place to misplace your fingernail clippers! Like these bags!

A little expensive bags for me. I make all sorts of bags (Go, Get Home, Sere, & Bug Out) I normally use 2 Mil clear zipper Bags easier for seeing what all gear in inside. They are waterproof and the Distibutor claims. "UV" Proof. I get these depending on the size for approx. 12 for $6.00 Awesome video as always Randyv

Nice bags, but I find zip lock baggies work well for me. They are waterproof. They are cheap. If one breaks, I just get another. Just my two bits.

Kit bags are a must have in my opinion. Stuff can happen suddenly out in the wild, so you want to be able to access what you need quick. The biggest thing is being able to get out a tent or tarp when bad weather springs up. Plus segmenting your gear helps keep you from forgetting something.

Another item I have purchased on Luke’s previous mention…..they’re great. A little pricier than other options, but buy once, cry once, and remember that these are being hand made in the USA. I also grabbed they’re Food Rehydrator “Cozy”, which is a lot like an insulated lunch bag. It keeps dehydrated meals warm and “cooking” in the colder months which is awesome and it does double duty as a padded bag for my stove set. Thanks Luke for turning me onto Pack Back!

For me, that semitransparent fabric would be very usable.
One day I might buy a set of these.

For sure a good product.

Luke is so good at reviewing products that thousands will watch a review about bags with baited breath and then go purchase said bags. We have all bought several items based on his reviews, however more importantly the things I haven't bought because of his reviews has saved me a lot of money.

A fellow AT thru hiker I travelled with refused to use any stuff sacks lol. She had a foodbag, but that was whatever bag the grocery store had when resupplying. It was chaos, and that was the trailname we gave her. She made it all 2185.4 mls.

UL very useful bags nice! Thanks again Luke, great work and well spoken. Will try to get these ordered.
PS to UL:
Im testing now the Durston X-Mid1 and 2 and X-Mid1pro and the Kakwa 40 pack. (i know hype and blabla, but the construction is very nice and i was impressed before i knew this tent hypes in the US)
Im hiking the Swiss-Mountains and set the tent above our tree-line that means around 1800 to 2500 meters above sea-level. As far as i can tell these tent are very capable to handling winds. I mean, the shift-winds in the morning and evening are no problem, even 40km/h winds are no problem. The rain until now also no problem, long light and moderate rain. Hard rain and winds up to 60 km/h are up to test .... oooON! But i must say testing in the mountains needs some good physical and mental condition so it maybe takes a wile, to get all the parameters in place.
