Many new tents come with guylines with a cute little plastic piece tied onto it. This is the guyline tensioner and there is a proper way to use it.

I know this is four years late, but I’m now 49 and thanks to your video, I finally know how to use these darn things! 😂😩. I grew up in the outdoors, and my father was an outdoor writer even, but I always got these things wrong or just drove a stake down through one of the holes in the plastic tab! I usually throw those tensioners out and use a taut-line hitch. Although, I just bought a Marmot tent that came with the three-hole tensioners and decided to figure them out. YOU came to the rescue with your short, easy, and simple video. Thank you!

Thanks. My guys were slipping as I'd tensioned using the wrong loop from the tensioner. Much more secure now.
