Building a Yurt in the Woods- START TO FINISH

Ever since visiting Mongolia and staying in a Ger (yurt), I have loved the idea of living in the round. For my latest build, I'm going with a modern off grid yurt in the woods.

I have a yurt and love it. You can easily live in it full time and not sure why they are not more popular. A few things I regret are not having a second door, not getting real windows, and having 5 ft walls instead of 6 ft. But still I love it and it has been sturdy for 8 years now. Whole project was under $10k and me and my husband did it ourselves with some extra help on yurt raising day.

What a build!! I have admired the Yurt for many years but I have never understood the process. A very interesting build to say the least. Hey Beautiful, I love it👍🏻👍🏻. I am currently in my 8x8 awning tent in my niece's yard on the side of the mountain in Western North Carolina. It's been chilly but beautiful. Still enjoying the tote bag I purchased from your and Belle's Coffee Shop 🥰. Taking a break to recharge after my cousin David earned his wings last month from cancer, he passed the day before my Steve's death anniversary of a year😢. Rode out Helene in his trailer, had a tree come down on top, put a hole in the roof, no power, no water, no cell service and utter destruction everywhere, I decided to go home to Florida for a dr appointment. Then Milton was coming, decided to pack up and come visit family here. Still taking life one day at a time and thankful for the adventures I am having with wonderful memories of beautiful people.
